When I was hiring employees for two new cannabis dispensaries, I was using the old university method; I went into the interview with a long list of questions & scenarios to command to the interviewee.
I needed to know how well they would handle stress & miserable customers, but you couldn’t keep all employees thrilled, or all customers thrilled.
I did expansive interviews with every person who came in looking for a task. I believed in eye contact duringterviewing, & when writing things down, I often lost that eye contact, then without eye contact, the person being interviewed would often lose interest. When I started interviewing for a new cannabis dispensary owner, he provided me cannabis hiring solutions, these were ideas on how to interview for a cannabis dispensary employee, then my task had just gotten easier, however not only was I able to come up with an easier interview, however I would type while the person talked, & still be able to keep eye contact with them, and one guy told me it was intimidating to have me looking at him while he talked. I couldn’t understand intimidating, but maybe unnerving. If he felt intimidated, maybe he was hiding something, then dispensary hiring solutions provided me more insight into the people I was hiring, because I could get more information through body language than through verbal responses! Although dispensary hiring solutions weren’t foolproof, it was a handy tool. I enjoyed using all the laptop programs they had for the cannabis dispensary. I only wished they had these tools when I was younger. They wouldn’t have been so hard to learn.
