I have known Ned since I was just a little child.
He was my dad’s best buddy, and later he moved in down the street from my family property.
Ned is not a blood relative in the least, although he is still a close member of my family. Many years have easily gone by, and now I live in my parents’ old property with kids of my own. Ned still lives down the block, and he drops by to see me at times. Last weekend Ned stopped by and asked me to go along with him to the local pot shop. Ned’s doctor had given him a prescription for medical cannabis, although he had never been to a “head shop” as he called it, and felt incredibly sad about going totally on his own. Ned is 85 years old, so I offered to drive him to the pot shop and show him around. Ned wasn’t aware of this, but I went to the pot shop at least once every week, because I appreciate weed that much! I was able to show him around the store, as I was telling him about what all the multiple cannabis products were, and how to use them. Ned chose to joke that I should have a task at the cannabis dispensary, not knowing I had already applied for a task. Overall it was a very successful shopping trip, Ned got the cannabis items he needed, and became a lot more comfortable with the pot shop. In the future Ned can go there without my company, although I will never turn down the option to escort him to the cannabis dispensary.
