You live and learn about pot

I got caught smoking pot at work not too long ago.

Actually I was live on the air at the time, working the graveyard shift for a large local boombox station.

I firmly maintain that it is not my fault. I even tried to get a well ranked lawyer to represent me in a wrongful termination suit, however none of them were very interested. If you look at it from my point of view it was just a dumb mistake, one that was genuinely not big enough to warrant me getting fired. The evening in question we workers were in the middle of a day-long “dazed as well as confused” marathon, playing a lot of songs from the 60s as well as 70s about drugs. Since we were highlighting rock n roll about cannabis, I didn’t assume it would be a big deal for me to legitimately get high on the air. If anything, the background of me inhaling cannabis should have added to the authenticity of the stoner rock n roll! It’s not as if I even broke the law, because I have a prescription for medical cannabis that normally I get filled at the dispensary every week. Even though it wasn’t illegal it was a huge violation of company policy. Specifically, that I smoked cannabis in the facility! But when I brought cannabis into the company to smoke, that was a rule violation for the station that could not be overlooked, so they fired me the next afternoon. If I had it to smoke that pot over again, I would have made a new choice, however for now all I can do is look for another job that is cooler about typical cannabis use.
